Before we begin, a disclaimer: I am not a financial planner, accountant, tax attorney or finance guru. I am at the core a lazy individual that may put in spurts of effort so long as it returns long term low effort. I wasn’t particularly athletic, brilliant, good looking or hard working. My ability to get rich was limited so I became an engineer at the behest of my elementary school teacher who corroborated my shortcomings. Oh yes, I was short as well. Strike five, or is that six? I wasn’t good at math or baseball.
If this book is too long, I encourage you to read the chapters relevant to your phase in life. Reading in sequence may build some financial terms and definitions or contemplate future considerations. My goal is not to dazzle you with complex formulas and beautiful charts, but to simplify personal finance and investing slowly and methodically, mostly absent of activity and drama that minimizes your time and effort that inconceivably leads to superior results. Once you learn the indolent way to manage your money, you’ll unlock security, choice and most of all, the freedom to be lazy.
